Allergies – Colds – Covid – Oh My!
I forgot to neti pot the other day after being at a large public event and I got a cold. It was my first cold since 2019! By some miracle, I dodged the Covid yet again! But a cold is real too people! I forgot how much mucus the body is capable of making! Then the cedar trees here in the foothills of California started releasing their pollen and holy moly, it waSNOT fun!
Thank goodness I had just batch cooked several meals before I got sick! I batch cook every Sunday so I am sure to have a health week of eating. It keeps me from taking shortcuts, over eating or eating out. Here is a video of some essentials I keep in my refrigerator to boost my immune system: Kim Chi, Elderberry Syrup, Blueberries, Blueberries, Liposomal C
The cold wet rain also woke up my arthritis and my low back started talking to me. Especially after a long drive to Santa Cruz! The ocean was lovely -The back was not! If you come to me for low back issues I most likely did some anterior unwinding for your low back. Well, there are ways you can give a similar unwinding to yourself. Here is a video on how to unwind tension in the front of the body to relieve low back pain. There are other things to do like strengthening exercises to stabilize the connection of your low back and pelvis. But this video will help you to stretch and open the psoas and release abdominal tension which can be causing fascial restrictions and patterns that worsen low back pain.
A wonderful source of:
Omega-9 fatty acids
Omega-6 fatty acids
More than 90% of castor oil’s fatty acid content is ricinoleic acid. Research shows that this omega-9 has pain relief and anti-inflammatory effects. When applied to the skin may help relieve issues like joint pain and menstrual cramps.
